Snow on the ground can be quickly moved using a scoop shovel equipped with our heavy-duty Bear paw auxiliary grip. This D-style grip attaches to the neck of the shovel, allowing the lower wrist to be in a much more ergonomic position. It also reduces bending action by 6 to 8 inches. Further, the grip helps to stabilize heavy shovel loads, and is much easier to grasp with bulky mittens. Manufactured from welded aluminum, this grip is not a plastic, quick-detach one-size-fits-all. It will become a permanent part of the shovel, only needing to be removed and installed on a future replacement shovel.Mountaineers, or others working in cold conditions, know the extra fatigue caused by wearing heavy mitts or gloves while using a shovel. Facing D grips allow the fingers to remain loose on both hands and, as such, will often keep things much warmer.
